Inauguration of the HOMS cardiovascular center
In the presence of the President of the Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina, the Hospital’s Board of Directors, ministers and civil authorities, the HOMS Cardiovascular Center (CCV) was inaugurated, a center for specialized and personalized medicine for cardiovascular patients, which offers all the diagnostic and therapeutic medical services available.
Dr. Rafael Sánchez Español, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, “HOMS, continuing with its mission to develop services of the highest quality and recognizing that cardiovascular diseases, in general, affect more than thirty percent of the population and are the leading cause of death in the world, created the cardiovascular center where a full range of cardiovascular services ranging from cardiology consultations, hemodynamics, non-invasive cardiology to cardiac surgery are now offered in a comprehensive manner.”
The HOMS Cardiovascular Center, located on levels 11 and 12 of the Hospital Building, manages and integrates knowledge, technology and human resources to offer excellent treatment with human sensitivity and social commitment. It is directed by Dr. Santiago García, who is accompanied by prominent cardiologists who, with their different subspecialties, manage the departments that complement the services offered.
It also has a physical and functional structure with special surgery rooms, hemodynamics rooms, coronary unit, post-surgical care unit, intermediate care unit, inpatient clinical rooms, cardiac imaging unit, non-invasive cardiology unit, electrophysiology and pacemaker unit, heart failure unit and rehabilitation unit.
With this activity, the HOMS Cardiovascular Center was officially presented as one of the most modern cardiology centers in the Dominican Republic.
