Merco, the leading corporate monitor in Ibero-America that has been evaluating the reputation of companies since 2000, presented for the first time the Merco Empresas Dominican Republic 2023 sector ranking, in which it positions the Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS) as the health center with the best reputation in the country.

In addition to leading the healthcare segment with the #1 position, this study, which is the result of an exhaustive and detailed analysis based on a multi-stakeholder methodology with five evaluations and fourteen sources of information, positions HOMS among the 100 most reputable companies in the country.

In this first edition, 149 business executives, members of the management committee of large companies operating in the Dominican Republic, answered the evaluation questionnaire. In addition, 247 experts participated in the evaluation of the companies, including: financial analysts, NGO representatives, labor sector organizations, consumer rights organizations, economic information journalists, business professors, government or public sector representatives, DIRCOM and opinion leaders.

Merco’s experts evaluate the reputational merits of the companies in the provisional ranking (around 200 objective indicators that reflect the reality of the companies).

Regarding the ranking, Luis Álvarez Soto, regional director of Merco, said that “companies and leaders did not pay to be here. This is a recognition that audiences make directly to their reputation.”
