HOMS a "green" hospital
In November 2014, HOMS began the process to obtain the Environmental License granted by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Over a period of two years, we worked with technicians from the Provincial Office of the Ministry of the Environment in order to comply.
During this time the hospital has prepared itself to comply with the standards established by the Ministry of the Environment, a process that meant hard work for compliance, verification, obtaining different certificates, and the approval of the terms of reference of the environmental impact studies and the environmental management plan, always with the purpose of preventing, controlling and mitigating the possible impacts on the environment and natural resources caused by our activity.
This demonstrates that HOMS contributes to the care and maintenance of the environment. Moreover, it is currently the only hospital in the region that complies with the Ministry’s requirement for the correct treatment of biocontaminated waste.
With this license it can be said that HOMS is a “green” hospital. A center always concerned about the welfare of its users and the residents of nearby areas, preventing them from being affected by any practice that threatens nature.
Finally, with this achievement we continue to consolidate a model with more quality, effectiveness, efficiency, less waste, risks, pollution and less energy consumption. Our commitment to social responsibility is not an improvised or temporary policy. We have proposed a sustainability model based on economic, social and environmental aspects, “three pillars” that define the hospital’s present and future project.
