Center for
Digestive Studies

It is the area destined to perform studies for the diagnostic confirmation of digestive diseases and many times to treat them.

Located on the fourth floor of the hospital building, it has a physical area of 763 square meters with 7 procedure rooms and ample space for the preparation and recovery of patients.

The medical staff consists of 12 gastroenterologists for adult and pediatric patients, as well as endoscopy technicians with certified training and administrative personnel ready to serve you. A team of anesthesiologists provides support in all procedures.

The Center is composed of 4 Units for the management of digestive system disorders, namely:

Coordinated by Dr. Brígida Navarro de Sánchez, Internal Medicine and Gastroenterologist.

Hepatology Unit

The Hepatology Unit is intended for the prevention, diagnosis and management of liver pathologies and their complications; this Unit is a Regional and National reference center for the management of these diseases. For these purposes we have the most updated diagnostic and therapeutic means, including the most complete version of FibroScan 630 for hepato-splenic Elastography, the best method for the study of fatty liver and hepatic fibrosis. In addition, the Unit offers consultation for the management of all liver diseases, catheterization of suprahepatic veins for the management of portal hypertension, transjugular liver biopsy and minimally invasive management of liver cancer.

Coordinated by Dr. Christie Perelló, Gastroenterologist and Doctor in Hepatology and Dr. José Luis Calleja, International consultant and head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Service of the Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Madrid, Spain.
