Comprehensive Care
Many tools are now available to cope with oncologic diseases. The type of treatment the patient will receive will depend on several factors: the type of cancer (including the location and type of cells), the stage or extent of the cancer and the general state of health are the most important aspects.
Comprehensive Care
Our Oncologist will initially gather all the information about your case profile. Based on the diagnosis, treatment options are chosen. He will consult with other experts whose experience, knowledge and specialization will be key to the comprehensive treatment of the case.
It will be the medical team and the Tumor Committee formed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from all specialties who will study the different therapeutic strategies and decide among all the treatments, the optimal or the most effective combination, in a personalized way for each patient.

Meetings Committee
Our hospital is a leader in the creation of the Tumor Committee, with the active chairmanship of the center’s director, Dr. Gutiérrez, and it is the main organizational tool that makes possible a multidisciplinary approach from the beginning of the oncologic process.
This care is fundamental in the care of cancer patients and involves the participation in decision making of all the specialists involved.
Infrastructure and equipment
We have 11 clinics on the third level, where interviews and clinical examination, analysis of the results of complementary examinations, discussion of therapeutic options and prescription of treatments are carried out.
Other rooms are:
- 2 radiotherapy with the most modern equipment currently available, which allows the tumor area to be radiated without affecting nearby organs.
- Brachytherapy room in which radiotherapeutic treatments are applied with the placement of seeds.
- A PET/CT room where positron emission tomography is performed.
A day hospital. This is the area where oncological treatments that do not require hospitalization are administered. It has 10 cubicles with armchairs and two beds, with double infusers for the administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy and immunotherapy on an outpatient basis.
Palliative care and pain
The mission of this unit is to provide adequate service to chronically ill patients and their families. Promoting comprehensive team care with the goal of keeping the patient with the highest possible quality of life and pain-free.
In addition, the Pain and Palliative Care unit, with:
- 1 consultation room
- 1 procedure room
The clinical hospitalization area has rooms located in the hospital building for the management of acute situations, complications, complex treatments or continuous care.
The emergency service. It is available to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with all diagnostic techniques available and a medical oncologist permanently accessible to emergency physicians.
Clinical research. Therapeutic advances have been based on clinical research, which continues to be one of the fundamental pillars of the medical treatment of cancer. Cancer Center professionals participate in international clinical trials with new molecules.
Second opinion
To prepare a second oncological medical opinion we will need a report that includes: the patient’s medical history, an anatomical report, a report of previous treatments, images and/or reports of radiological examinations and a proposed treatment plan.
All documentation provided by the patient to the HOMS Cancer Center is digitized and stored in accordance with the regulations in force regarding Personal Data Protection.
Our staff is trained to assist you, assess your diagnosis and put you in contact with the specialist according to your specific needs. They will inform you of the steps to follow and answer all your questions.
Our experts advise the patient on whether or not a genetic study is necessary. We provide patients with their results in the most accurate and truthful way and explain the implications for their families. In addition, we offer any other information that may be of interest to you and answer any questions that may arise.
Due to the complexity of the analyses performed, turnaround times are longer than for other laboratory tests.
Oncoplastics
The Oncoplastic unit is specialized in immediate or delayed breast reconstruction of mastectomized patients or with sequelae of mastectomy due to breast cancer, with the mission to help you find the best solution and reconstruction in each case.
Genetic Cancer
Genetic analysis is performed with a simple blood sample and offers important benefits such as implementing the most appropriate treatment for each pathology, planning a more specific and exhaustive follow-up, etc.
